I’m Jennifer Gulino, a contemporary painter exploring the emotional connections shared between humans and animals. I’m drawn to the subtle gestures, expressions, and moments of presence that reveal the depth of these relationships. Through expressive color and layered brushwork, I aim to capture not just likeness, but the feeling of connection—being seen, remembered, or loved.
Working in a modern impressionistic style, I create acrylic paintings and digital works in Procreate, using texture, movement, and color temperature to convey emotion. Each portrait begins with close observation of the details that define a subject’s character: the tilt of a head, the softness around the eyes, the energy or stillness in a posture. These cues become the foundation for paintings that feel intimate and alive.
